Membership

Incorporated in 1959 as a non-profit, charitable and educational organization for the acquisition and preservation of property and structures of local conservation and historic significance.

The Landmarks society owns and maintains Old St. Hilary's Landmark, the China Cabin and the Brick Kiln property for an Art and Garden Center. By lease agreement, the Society manages the wildflower acreage and the preservation of the Donahue Building. The Society activities include historic publications, botanical and architectural tours, concerts, lectures and exhibits. The archives include collections of photographs, art, artifacts, maps, documents and reference library.

Membership Options:

  • Friends ($50)  - Subscription to the printed Landmark newsletter and invitationis to special programs and events
  • Preservationist ($100) - All of the above plus a set of Landmarks' note cards
  • Patron ($250) - All of the above plus a selected Landmarks' book
  • Historian ($500)- All of the above plus free access to the Archives Historical Collection for one hour
  • Steward ($1,000) - All of the above plus an invitation to a private reception
  • Guardian ($2,500) - All fo the above plus your private party with refreshments at a Landmarks site!
Membership is open to anyone interested in local history and our natural resources and who wishes to share in the responsibility of protecting the heritage of our communities. You are invited to join.

Your membership indicates support for preserving Marin's local heritage. Dues are used for basic operating expenses. Dues and donations are tax deductible under federal and state tax provisions.

 

Volunteer Options:

Please consider as well becoming a Landmarks' Volunteer.  We are always looking for interested individuals who would like to be docents for our different historical properties or who would like to volunteer to work in our Archives helping us catalog and preserve our local histoery.  Please email your interest to Lmsoffice@sbcglobal.net
